The fiber · Alpaca
Alpaca has no lanolin and a soft luster, and it is warm for its weight. In the 400 Series it is often paired with linen, and the difference in height and sheen between the two draws the pattern.
The making · Hand-knotted
Each knot is tied by hand, row by row, with the Indo-Nepali knot, then the pile is sheared to height. Hand-knotting allows pile at several heights and several fibers in one row, which is how the carved and high-low patterns are made.
Care
Vacuum gently without a beater bar and blot spills right away. Professional rug cleaning only.
