Merino and cashmere, hand-knotted in a taupe and mushroom checkerboard. The raised squares are 11 mm cut cashmere and the low squares are 7 mm merino loops, so the pattern is made by texture as much as color.

The fiber · Merino
Merino is a fine wool with a natural crimp, so the pile springs back after it is walked on. It takes dye deeply, which is why the 200 Series carries our greens and camels.
The making · Hand-knotted
Each knot is tied by hand, row by row, with the Indo-Nepali knot, then the pile is sheared to height. Hand-knotting allows pile at several heights and several fibers in one row, which is how the carved and high-low patterns are made.
Care
Vacuum gently without a beater bar and blot spills right away. Professional rug cleaning only.
